Symptoms
Sunken, dark, concentrically ringed spots on ripening fruit with pinkish spore masses in humid weather; can also affect leaves and stems.
Favorable conditions
- •Warm, wet weather during fruit ripening
- •Overhead irrigation and rain splash
- •Infected seed or transplants
Management
- 1Rotate protectant and systemic fungicides
- 2Plant resistant varieties
- 3Rotate crops and remove debris
- 4Avoid overhead irrigation
