A fungal disease producing raised, sandpaper-like spots from spores released by dead wood.
Symptoms
Small, raised, brown "sandpaper" spots on leaves and the fruit rind, originating from spores produced on dead twigs and wood.
Favorable conditions
- •Dead wood in the canopy acting as the spore source
- •Wet weather during new growth
Management
- 1Prune out and remove dead wood from the canopy
- 2Apply copper fungicide sprays during wet periods
