Symptoms
Small, sunken, brown pits develop in the flesh and skin, often more severe near the calyx end of the fruit.
Favorable conditions
- •Calcium deficiency in the fruit
- •Excessive nitrogen fertilization or uneven irrigation
Management
- 1Apply calcium sprays during fruit development
- 2Avoid excess nitrogen and irrigation swings
- 3Harvest at the proper maturity stage
