Soft, gray, moldy rot at the neck of stored bulbs with gray fuzzy fungal sporulation.
Favorable conditions
- •Excess nitrogen fertilization
- •Harvesting before proper maturity
- •Poor curing before storage
Management
- 1Cure bulbs properly before storage
- 2Avoid excess nitrogen
- 3Harvest at proper maturity
- 4Apply pre-harvest fungicide sprays where the disease is a recurring problem
