A sun-exposure injury on fruit that has lost its protective leaf cover.
Symptoms
A pale, blistered, papery patch develops on the sun-exposed side of the fruit.
Favorable conditions
- •Direct sun exposure after defoliation from disease, pruning, or wind
Management
- 1Maintain adequate foliage cover over fruit
- 2Avoid over-pruning
- 3Use shade cloth in especially hot climates
