A fungal disease of citrus blossoms that causes flowers to drop prematurely and reduces fruit set.
Symptoms
Orange-brown lesions on flower petals, with premature drop of infected flowers leaving behind a persistent calyx ("star") and reduced fruit set.
Favorable conditions
- •Wet weather during bloom
- •Overhead irrigation during flowering
Management
- 1Time fungicide sprays to bloom, especially ahead of wet weather
- 2Avoid overhead irrigation while trees are flowering
