A common fungal disease producing dark, concentric "target spot" lesions starting on older leaves.
Symptoms
Dark, concentric-ringed "target" spots appearing first on older, lower leaves, plus stem lesions and sunken spots at the fruit stem end.
Favorable conditions
- •Warm temperatures (24-29°C) with alternating wet and dry periods
- •Plant stress from nutrient deficiency or heavy fruit load
Management
- 1Rotate chlorothalonil or mancozeb-based fungicides
- 2Rotate crops away from solanaceous hosts
- 3Use resistant varieties
- 4Stake/mulch plants and remove infected debris
