Symptoms
Small water-soaked spots that turn dark and raised/scabby on leaves and fruit, with yellowing and defoliation in severe cases.
Favorable conditions
- •Warm, wet weather (24-30°C)
- •Rain splash and contaminated seed or transplants
- •Overhead irrigation
Management
- 1Use certified disease-free seed and transplants
- 2Apply copper bactericides preventively
- 3Avoid overhead irrigation
- 4Rotate crops and use resistant varieties
