Yellowing and wilting leaves, internal vascular discoloration, premature and uneven fruit ripening or rotting, and bacterial ooze from cut pseudostems or fruit.
Favorable conditions
•Insects visiting male flowers and spreading bacteria between plants
•Contaminated cutting tools moving between plants
•Infected planting material (suckers, corms)
Management
1Remove and destroy infected plants including the underground corm
2Disinfect tools between every plant
3Control insect vectors that visit male flowers, or remove the male bud
