Symptoms
White fungal mats visible under the bark at the crown, honey-colored mushrooms at the base in fall, and gradual vine decline.
Favorable conditions
- •Planting on former orchard or forest sites with residual wood inoculum
- •Poor drainage
Management
- 1Avoid planting on old orchard/forest sites without remediation
- 2Improve drainage
- 3Remove infected roots and stumps before replanting
