Chamaedorea elegans
A compact, slow-growing indoor palm with delicate fronds — one of the most shade-tolerant palms available.
Brown leaflet tips usually point to low humidity, fluoride in tap water, or fertilizer salt buildup rather than underwatering. Yellowing fronds that stay otherwise healthy are often just the plant's oldest growth naturally dying back.
Parlor palms don't propagate well from cuttings — they're almost always grown from seed or division of an already-clumping, multi-stemmed plant.
This slow grower rarely needs repotting more than once every 2-3 years, and prefers to stay slightly root-bound rather than being sized up too far ahead of its growth.
